The Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS) introduced an integrated Pre-School Education (PSE) framework for teacher training and accreditation applicable to personnel from both the kindergarten and child care sectors. The training route for pre-school teachers is effective from January 2001.
Academic entry points are specified for the Certificate and Diploma level courses.
The Specialist Diploma in Pre-school Education is available for polytechnic/degree holders from other disciplines. This programme incorporates both the teaching and the leadership components of both the Diploma in Pre-school Education–Teaching (DPE-T) and the Diploma in Pre-school Education–Leadership (DPE-L).
The target set is for all principals of kindergartens to be trained at diploma in leadership level (DPE-L). The time frame to achieve this is 5 years with effect from 2001.
* At least 2 years’ teaching experience in a pre-school setting prior to assuming supervisory position.
The minimum qualification of the employee should be a GCE ‘O’ level certificate with 3 GCE ‘O’ level credits including a credit in English Language or Mother Tongue Language (Language Teacher). She / He will have to be trained at the appropriate professional level, Certificate in Pre-School Teaching or Diploma in Pre-school Teaching, whichever is applicable

Comments on videoI realised from a few of my own relatives that they always lose contact when they mirgrate overseas.If I was to migrate I would never lose contact with my family in Singapore.I would always want to know about things that happen here.so I think that it is a good idea for the government to help people from overseas to remember where they should actually belong.Some people do not come back because they do not have as strong sense of belonging to Singapore.From this we can show that a sense of belonging to the country begins from young thats why we have NE or national education.If people who migrate to other countries just come back for a few days maybe they might have a different thinking of what they thought of Singapore when they migrated.

My Career
What I want to be when i grow up is a question I am asked very often.I never thought about it actually,I wanted to be a scientist when i grow up,but looking at the qualification i totally gave up on that dream. Currently i want to be a teacher!!I find that it is quite nice to be a teacher(other than marking papers).I also know that being a teacher is not easy but i will try my best.The qualifications is that i must at least have a A-level certificate.I can imagine if any of my friends have children, then i can teach them,so that i would not lose contact with any of my friends!

I am Ong Yu Min.You can also address me by my nickname which is mushroom,well i got that nickname because when i just enter secondary school my hair really looked like a mushroom so i got that nickname.i am lets say a funny person.when you just get to know me i may seem very talkative but,i really do brighten your day(somehow).My CCA is band,its really fun at times,but at other times it may seem very stressful and tedious.Its just like a big family,it lets you make lots and lots of friends.My hobbies are sleeping,using the computer and playing badmintion.I love chocolates and sweets,but i am currently trying to cut down on them before i grow fat because i do not like to exercise.I got a best frend in Chong Boon,and that is Amanda.She has been in the same class as me for two years but sadly,this year we were separated.She is currently in another class, but never mind because we still keep in contact and regularly go for recess together.Anyway we also have the same CCA.
In my family, i have two brothers and i am the youngest.Though we are sibilings,sadly i always argue with them.Also every weekend i go to my grandmother's house to babysit my cousins.So during weekends i do not really have anything to do.Anyway,you must be wondering which schol i come from right?Let me answer that doubt for you.I come from Chong Boon and my class is Integrity 2 if you are interested you can visit my school website at
